Introducing, Inspiring Authenticity, a holistic approach to learning how to teach the practice of yoga.
Have you ever considered deepening your study of yoga?
Have you ever thought about teaching yoga?
If you answered yes to either of those questions, keep reading!
In August 2017, you are invited to join me in a journey that will not only allow you to teach yoga, but also deepen your understanding of yourself and ultimately allow you to access a deeper level of authentic expression.
The best yoga teachers are those who teach from the heart, rather than from a textbook. This training is as much about self discovery as it is about learning how to teach the practice of yoga.
You will soon discover that yoga about so much more than the poses!
Of course, you’ll learn how to do all the poses. You’ll learn why postures don’t have alignment, but people do. You’ll also learn how to keep your students safe and connected to their bodies as they move through their practice.
I began teaching yoga in 2010, and opened Surya Yoga in 2014. In 2015, I taught my first 200 hour training, graduating 10 teachers, many of whom are currently teaching regularly in and around Regina & Indian Head.
I believe yoga should be fun, and it is a way for us to deepen our understanding of who we are and how we tick, ultimately improving our quality of life & our relationships.
I believe this is a yoga teacher training like no other.
Of course, I believe in holding true to the Yoga Tradition which is why I have opted to use Georg Feurestein’s Traditional Yoga Studies manual for your study of yoga history & philosophy.
I also believe creating relationship with our bodies is of key importance, and having a strong understanding of anatomy is vital to this relationship. You will be using the world class Yoga Anatomy training developed by Leslie Kaminoff & Amy Matthews to help you gain a strong understanding of anatomy as it pertains to yoga practice.
The bulk of your training will be completed over the month of August 2017 at my studio in Indian Head, Sk.. During this time we will deep dive into the practice, teaching & tradition of yoga. We will also go on a journey of self discovery & awakening.
In addition to my top two yoga reference books, I have also included some of my favourite self help books on the required reading list to help you access a genuine connection to who you are, what you desire, and how you want to manifest your dreams.
Together we will be reading:
Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff & Amy Matthews
The Spirit and Practice of Moving into Stillness by Erich Schiffman
Loving What Is by Byron Katie
Money, A Love Story by Kate Northrup
In addition to our immersive weekends in August, we will also have weekly webinar sessions on very specific, valuable, and important topics.
